Why Chill & Create is Different from Ordinary Supervision
There is a significant difference between a child who is supervised and a child who is engaged. At The Desha Academy we have always believed that the hours children spend outside of the formal school day are just as important as the hours inside it — and Saturday mornings are no exception.
Chill & Create is not a babysitting service. It is an intentional learning experience designed by a qualified educator with over 24 years of experience working with children in Trinidad and Tobago.
The benefits children experience in our Saturday sessions include:

Programme Details
📍 Location: Carlton Centre, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago
📅 Day: Every Saturday
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 noon
👧🏽 Ages: 6 to 12 years
👥 Group size: Small groups — maximum 10 children
💰 Investment: $75 TTD per session
Chill & Create Saturdays run throughout the school term and are open to children whether or not they are enrolled in any other Desha Academy programme. Drop-in sessions are welcome subject to availability — however regular attendance is encouraged to help children settle into the rhythm of the sessions.
Sometimes, you just need a few hours to get things done…and you want to know your child is not just being “watched” but engaged, learning, and enjoying the experience.
This is more than just a drop-off session. It is a space where children can explore, express themselves, and build confidence while having fun.
During each session, children may engage in:
Story Circles that build Comprehension and imagination
Arts & Crafts to encourage creativity
Simple STEM challenges to spark curiosity
Journalling and Creative Writing
Educational Games
Calm “chill-out” moments for rest and reflection
Whether your child loves to create, read, or simply needs a structure space to unwind, this experience is designed with them in mind.
Chill & Create Saturdays is part of The Desha Academy's wider ecosystem of educational support programmes for children and families in San Fernando and Marabella, Trinidad and Tobago.
